Today I have pushed a quick and dirty hack (requested by an user) to allow tweaking how much SF thinks on a move. The origin of this request is the observation that many engines seem to move faster and often SF is behind in time clock.
I really don't know if this can improve something anyhow it seems is a thing people is willing to toy with, so here we go. The option name is "Slow Mover" defaults to 100 and when increasing the value you make SF to think more, decreasing (down to 10 that is the minimum) you make SF to move faster.
You need to download from github the latest sources and compile them yourself. There will be no new release for this.

Hi Marco,
That is what is called "Time usage percent" in the Shredder engine.
Default value is 100. With lower valus it plays faster, with higher values slower - of course always within the time control.
It had an effect in Shredder 10. With little faster time control (95) it plays about 20 ELo better in Ponder ON Games back then - but the effect was not visible in Ponder off games ...
Bye
Ingo
