Test move by Morphy....1860....for the Dedicated Portables

Post by rightrook »

[D]4kr2/1p2n3/2qQPp2/p1P4p/1b1P4/7P/6P1/1R3R1K w - - 0 1

Here Morphy played Rxb4...etc.

Novag Sapphire2....takes 1 min. 10 sec.

RISC takes 40 sec.

Any portables out there faster than 40 seconds?

Just wondering...

Hi Terry..

Black was played by J. Thompson...at New york in 1860.

Morphy won this without his white knight...

(his white knight was removed at the beginning of the game).

I found this game in an old chess book I received for winning first place in my highschool
chess tournament (championship) back in 1952....

The name of the book is The Golden Treasury of Chess by Wellmuth.

best regards

Robert
