Mephisto Montreaux on German ebay

Post by Larry »

You don't see many of these things. I must have been a rather
short production run, from the days when dedicated's were making
their last ditch attempt to keep up with the softwares:

I can't afford it regards

Absolutely no doubt about the credentials of the program, but personally I've never found that style of housing very attractive, even with the vast amount of plastic to drool over.

I think I first saw this type of style with the Simultano back in the 80s and it has been variously modified in size, colour and presentation to carry a vast array of programs ever since.

As much as I am a plastic man, this is one instance where a program like that only deserves holz. And not holzspan, but real holz

Steve will no doubt agree Regards

and agree i do Jon!
in fact ..the program in the Montreux is the King program by de Koinig which appears in the Tasc R30 which is made from the finest wood ever seen in a schachcomputer

Spanning the Globe For Holz Regards

the seller here is one of the worlds TOP collectors who sadly has decided to sell off his collection ..piece by piece on Ebay
he has already sold several high end computers like the Montreux
just yesterday he sold his Saitek Renaissance board and he currenlty has a Sphinx Dominator up as well
while it is very interesting to see what his collection will rake in for a total price it is very disappointing to see a Top Collector walk away from the hobby

Discouraged Regards
Steve

yes Mate and more!
here is a listing of his collection as it looked about 3 years ago culled from Kurts Site

while no longer indicative of his current collection(before the sell-off) it does give s good taste of things to come..

Hi actually, there have been another Montreux for sale last year... it was sold for 166 Euros 8-)
OK, this was not a normal auction but enough has already been written in forums & emails about it so I will not launch a thread about it again here.

I hope this auction will go to the end...

Expecting a four digits final price regards,
Alain

I agree wih you Jonathan ; I long thought that the Montreux was in a "Milano like" box and was a bit disappointed when I received mine (of course, only by the plastic box, not by the program itself which is very strong and make a few fine games against my TM a few weeks ago).

Best regards,
Alain
