But what has this to do with computer chess? There is Chess Players Forum if You have not noticed!

Thanks for your honesty. I kind of expected this. This is OK btw.towforce wrote: ↑Tue Oct 21, 2025 7:56 pm Regarding his final chess stream which Peter posted above: I watched the last 35 minutes, and found it impossible to make any kind of judgement without having ever watched any of his streams before. All I can say is that he looked physically healthy, and did play some good chess when he actually got opponents who, having challenged him, actually played.
To some degree i agree with Jouni anyway. This is completely OT.
Personally the news made me sad. I registered when Danya lost his job. Then he got banned from some Titled Tuesday. But he didn't recover: things got worse for him. To some degree a crisis was to be expected IMHO.

That finally stream is beyond bizarre and totally different to any of his streams. I would like to know why on many games the opposing player would let the time run out before playing first move and letting the games auto abort!!?? Was that a chess.com glitch or was intentional? That seemed to really agitate him. He also seemed to be really struggling with something unrelated to chess and seemed to just want a game to get started to temporarily escape reality … something anyone, who sometimes goes on an online blitz binge to take his mind of a stressful period, can relate to. Very difficult and sad to watch those last 30 minutes.

As far as I understand, the players were aware that he was not in a good state and did not want to be seen farming his rating points.M ANSARI wrote: ↑Wed Oct 22, 2025 8:01 am That finally stream is beyond bizarre and totally different to any of his streams. Indeed it only seemed to make him more upset. I don't know if his opponents were trying to communicate why they were aborting.

Several GMs have attacked Kramnik's treatment of Naroditsky - e.g. link.
Kramnik is not coming out of this smelling of roses.

I guess there is a connection. If computers had not gotten so strong, we would still be in the period where Kasparov accused Deep Blue of cheating by using human input.
