Help Searching for Test Position

Post by rj329 »

I'm looking for a middlegame test position where the white king is lured out of his safety with starting moves ...Qh3+ or ...Qxh3+ or ...Qf3+ or ...Qxf3+. The sequence involves the white king taking the knight? on g5 (Kxg5) and eventually ending up in a king walk to the 7th/8th rank where he gets checkmated. Can anyone help me finding this, I've searched it here but I'm not able to locate it.

[...]
I think I found the original source: the author (nickname and avatar) is the same and dates match. Here is the process of composing the puzzle, other than the explanation is with white to play and win, hence a mirror position respect to the puzzle on YouTube:

It was not this position unfortunately, it's a testposition that is difficult for Stockfish and co.

Please give us more information. Is it an old test position ? Is from a real game ? When did you see it for the first time ? From the last time ? ... ?

I saw it from 2022 to 2023, it was in a testposition suite. Unfortunately I'm not able to search for these positions cause you need to search for at least 4 characters :(

And it's possible, that the initial moves were 1... Qf2 or ...Qxf2 or ...Qg3 or ...Qxg3. But pretty sure they were the ones I initially mentioned

And you don't mean Mihai Neghina's Chase, do you?

[d]4N2k/4PB1p/7P/B1p5/2P5/3q2Pp/1P3P1K/2r5 w - - 0 1

Afair it was used in suites as test position now and then too andy maybe starting with one move cut off, so that a new 1...Qxg3+ (instead of 2...) could appear, regards
