Game 6 B. Fischer vs B. Spassky 1972

Post by Pi4Chess »

Hello,

Does anyone know if there is already a published extensive analysis of this game with recent chess engines ?

I was quickly analyzing the moves of this game with last dev stockfish and i was amazed by how Bobby Fischer was nearly playing at nowadays Stockfish level !

Many moves of Fischer are the best moves found by stockfish while Spassky moves are not.

This is mindblowing

Qa4 was preparation or a novelty. Spassky had to improvise.

Agreed.
But why don't analyze it for yourself. You have a chess monster at your disposal, which wipes the floor with any analysis done without
computers.

Here Spasski missed an amazing oppotunity, to turn the tables. I feel it is very beautiful how anything suddenly fits together for black.

I did not analyzed the game itself but i did like a quick similarities check between Stockfish moves and players moves. The level of play of Fischer was clearly really high since SF would have played many moves as Fischer did.
