Peasant Revolt is the name of this variant.
Black is clearly better but at the same time white possesses high drawing chances. Two knights can't mate bare king.
What is your say on the likely outcome.

variations. Maybe some good winning chances for black here. Actually 2
knights can mate white, if black won't gobble all the pawns but leave 1
pawn or 2 so black can maneuver for a checkmate. Many puzzles where
2 knights can deliver checkmate if some opposing pawns are left.
But this is obviously an illegal position, how can black promote another N when
all white pawns are complete.

this only comes to show how much restricted our beloved forum is in terms of chess quality.
4 out of 5 people, so 80%, voted this is a draw.
actually, black easily wins this.

It seems so. With good Komodo engine building an opening book and with the same Komodo in self-games on 2 threads, I got:Lyudmil Tsvetkov wrote:this only comes to show how much restricted our beloved forum is in terms of chess quality.

10''+ 0.1''"
67 Black wins, 33 draws
60''+ 0.6''
80 Black wins, 20 draws
The skewness of the results and the trend seems to confirm that Black wins here in serious games. Pretty interesting imbalance, engines are confused about initial scores in these positions, so one has to play games, if not a strong player himself. Even a strong player might be confused here.

If Carlsen face Vachier-Lagrave in that endgame with either sides.
Carlsen vs MVL 10 rounds either sides.

Re: Three Knights vs Eight Pawns
Score goes up mainly because after few initial moves mobility of knights increases. Afterwards pawn exchange is practically forced and black has no means to keep all remaining white pawns at bay without actually giving up a knight.MikeGL wrote:I tried to play with SF, and score of black keeps on climbing on most

Yes, and this is not MC, pretty good games on two threads (1 minute level on 2 threads is almost blitz).Milos wrote:You really believe small MC experiment at such a rudimentary short TC has any meaning???Laskos wrote:It seems so.
