Game 54 - bishop pair adequate compensation for pawn less

GAME 54

Komodo plays the return game in a more classical manner, trying to establish central control. 21. c5 wins a pawn, that might look dangerous to the eye, but in reality poses little threat. Houdini gains the bishop pair and kingside pressure, which prove to be adequate compensation. After the major pieces come off the board, the BN and pawns versus BB and one less pawn is drawn. Komodo leads by +3 =50 -1.

Game 55 - shattered pawn structure not disastrous

GAME 55

In an Exchange Grunfeld line (by transposition), Houdini shatters Komodo's pawn structure, but this proves insufficient for any sort of telling advantage. Komodo leads by +3 =51 -1.

Game 56 - Houdini gives up pawn for the more active game

GAME 56

Houdini again gives up a pawn, this time to turn the more passive position into the more active one. A draw by repetition follows soon afterwards. Komodo leads by +3 =52 -1.

Game 57 - komodo exchange sac adds interest, but game drawn

GAME 57

In a Queens Indian line, Komodo tries to open up the queenside to eliminate any nasties on that side. Houdini counters with a kingside pawn push to f5. The game then becomes interesting when Komodo sacs the exchange for an extra pawn. However, neither side can create an advantage, and after the queens come off, the endgame is drawn. Komodo leads by +3 =53 -1.

Game 58 - a fairly stale draw. Komodo leads +3 =54 -1

GAME 58

This game is a fairly stale affair. Once the queenside is denuded, both sides end up with kingside pawns on the same files. The rook and bishops offer little hope of any real action and the game is eventually drawn. Komodo leads by +3 =54 -1.

in that case, you should buy glasses.

that will also help you see the digit 1 as 2, so 2 out of 3.

you don't expect me to start a linguistic analysis of Graham's titles, do you?

any big difference between Houdini under pressure and Houdini barely saved itself?

Game 31 - Komodo unable to take advantage of clear edge
Game 33 - Houdini lives up to its name to salvage draw Game 35 - Komodo overcomes Houdini sac to take 2-1 lead
Game 36 - Komodo gets adventurous, but can't crack Houdini Game 39 - Komodo's IQP a strength, not a weakness

31 - clear edge
33 - salvage draw
35 - overcomes sac
36 - crack
39 - IQP a strength

from above I conclude in all those games Komodo had the advantage, but I still have not browsed the games, so this might indeed be true.

after all, Houdini is 9 months old. (Houdart is right now playing with his +40 elo version)
