Hi,
my Samsung Galaxy S6 edge phone got today an OTA security update (Android 5.1.1, G925FXXU3C019 from Fri Sep 25).
After this security update, the onscreen "three points" application menu inside Droidfish 1.57 don't work any more. After taping on it, four entries show up and disappear immediately.
Any workaround known?

In the meantime, tested several soft button solutions from the google play store, but none of them worked. And no luck with uninstalling/installing Droidfish.
Unfortunately Aart Biks "Chess for Android" has the same problem now! The 3-dot menu disappears immediately after tapping. Can’t select new game or level any more.
_Well_ done Samsung!

That's why chess freaks should still stay stuck on Kitkat and 32 bits. My tourneys still run with 100+ engines.
Even if Droidfish and CfA overcome the menu button issue, several engines won't work under Lollipop. I guess nobody will recompile all that stuff with nopie option.

After talking to Samsung support staff, it seems that app/service UIBCVirtualSoftkey is broken by this update. They promised a solution
If you are on the S6 or S6 edge .. it's your decision updating the phone.

Re: Droidfish issue since latest security update on S6 edge
There is a new Droidfish version 1.59 which solves the menu problem!
The provided Stockfish engine (231015) is much faster on multiple cores. My S6 edge scores now 2385 kN/s with 8 threads and 256 mb hash after one minute. With one thread its the same as Stockfish 6 (455 kN/s).
Thank you very much Peter!

Thanks for the info but I don't see a way to change the number of threads. It's stuck on 1 thread.

Hi there,
same problem here.
I can't see a possibility to give more as 1 core.
No problem with the menue Systems on Telekom Puls tablet (Android 5.0.1) and HTC M8 & M9.
Best
Frank
My wish:
I will see the name of the openings and the ECO code. That would be great if the programmer can do that.

Swipe from the left corner --> "Manage Chess Engines" --> "Set options" --> Somewhere at the top of the screenh1a8 wrote:Thanks for the info but I don't see a way to change the number of threads. It's stuck on 1 thread.
