This is an interesting game. The end game may be very long. White controls the board. A little more pressure on the Q side winning a pawn and more pressure in the middle should take place giving white a couple more pawns.S.Taylor wrote:I must admit i myself can not say exactly what should and should not be done, and I'm just watching to learn!Masterbaiter wrote:Ra1
e.g. I don't know if one pair of rooks should be exchanged or not. I'm not big enough in endgame.
If all pieces and queenside pawns are off the board, then white can win.

Or are you just a big chess master who can see all this in a second or two?

There's hardly anything ON the queen side, and all white has is 2 doubled pawns.
Very liquid situation though.
Obviously the passed QP is a very big plus.

The Knight is powerful and the Rook can slide back and forward to help on the Q side.S.Taylor wrote:There's hardly anything ON the queen side, and all white has is 2 doubled pawns.

Re: MD v JL: Gambit declined
I think this game has justly indicated that by declining the mccmad gambit, white cannot expect to win.
(But I don't claim that either side made best play).
