We are just trying out a different line. I think I should still win and McMad thinks he can draw. In that case I should lose instead!

He can still try to win that pawn on g4 just as easily like this. But if you exchanged pawns, you might JUST have been still able to double your rooks on the h file and got at whites king and held him to a draw from checks or similar. Atleast that option to fight back would still have been in the air.
