"To shuffle your queen like a drunk dancer... is a shame..." (Dr. W. Deeb)
The one and *only* exception from this beautiful rule in chess - is when
you try to play a good game vs one well chosen chess program - with your
mind and body full of red Chilean wine...
Indeed my friend,indeed
_No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….
I suspect that Anand's main strategy for this match is to drag Carlsen to the tiebreaks with faster time controls where he is obviously superior....
Just a crazy thought before I hit the hay regards,
Dr.D

Good point. Also they will play for draw until one has an advantage and then hopefully we will see some good chess play.

Happy Dreams.

Magnus is rated higher than Vishy in rapid & blitz rating according to fide.com. Magnus is no slouch in speed chess.

Also, I can't say that I'm pleased with game 1 but I'm even less pleased with the whining of patzers. It's only the first game of the match and the first draw and you want to implement some idiotic system with penalties for mistakes and draws. Give me a freaking break.
+1. Well said.
Messi earned 57 millions only in sponsors last years, Tiger woods more than 60 millons, great numbers for Djokovic, Federer, Nadal, and many NBA players, list is very long.
This are the best chess players in world. Whats the problem about earning some good money in a 12 game match? They have to train, travel, pay helpers and seconds.
I see too many envy on comments.
Where do you see this too mnay envy
As a specialist I earn enough money to drive a decent car and afford a decent lifestyle....
We are annoyed by the quality of the first game, not by it's result....
To shuffle your queen like a drunk dancer before you even start the game is a shame for a world champion.....
Say whatever you want but it is what it is....
Dr.D
yes good reply Dr., but I don't know what he means by "I see too many envy on comments".

I play and defeat computer chess enteties ranked above the 2900 Elo barrier in the popular rating list like CCRL,GEGT,etc.
These chess enteties are running on a very fast overclocked modern hardware,I don't take back moves and I turn off the thinking lineso the engine....
I stear my games toward well known opening lines like the Nimzovitch-Larsen Attack, the Old Indian Defence, etc.
And I am not even an officially rated player....
What you call a first draw is a straight forward mockery of the chess community world wide....
Penalties for mistakes is maybe a little bit over the edge but getting their fund deducted everytime they make an idiotic draw like the one in question is actually a brilliant idea that will prevent the WCC from becoming an overall idiotic event....
You have a nice day Sir....
Dr.D
What are they waiting for? This is the World Championship of chess! You should be trying to attain your victory and going for it all the way. Carlsen is almost a 100 elo points stronger and should be trying to get it all but both are lackadaisical.
That's exactly what I am trying to say and then comes an expert down the road waving the patzer flag at me and Kim and saying that it's all about making money and it doesn't matter if it's a first grader quality 16 moves chess game....
It doesn't matter at all, after all it's only a WCC....
Give me a freaking freaky break my friend regards,
Dr.D
And another thing. just say for example that these two Super Duper GM would draw for the remaining games in 16 moves or less. Then there goes the sponsor money moving over to that stupid redneck Nascar racing and who in the hell wants to watch that fat Tony Stewart go round and round for five hours? Or maybe the sponsors would move over to the UFC. Now who would want to watch George St. Pierre defeat an opponent with a flying armbar. so lets play the games out for entertainment, and satisfy the sponsors and fans.

Many here have orgasms over clone wars so what is wrong with a GM draw or 2?

Some of those orgasms over clone wars are some of the highest rated games in chess history, and more 3000elo games in the future will be played by programs other than 100% original code programs, if there is such a thing.
Nothing wrong with a hard fought draw but 16 moves is borderline theft.

So nothing wrong with toilet breaks then in your opinion?
