Hi All,

If anyone is interested I'm starting a new blog about Chess Programming. It's an "over-the-shoulder-view" of engine development. I'm starting from scratch (other than my old Monarch i/o code) and creating a new engine called Maverick. I'll aim for frequent updates (possibly daily).

As you say, do something original seems more and more difficult, it seems you have to walk avoiding copying more than writing code.

Thanks. I used Fritz and SnagIt. I then added the "x" using Photoshop!

Thanks Steve. Your blog inspired me to implement magic bitboards in my engine (Tucano). I was using plain bitboards but never took a serious look at magic bitboards. With your explanation I finally had a little push to implement it.
