Compiling Xboard latest from GIT

Post by jshriver »

Installed all the required modules according to configure.

However it fails on the very first part of building. Doing a find shows those files don't exist and haven't found any packages that contain them. Any tips?

Arun Persaud wrote:I googled it a bit (searched for "cannot stat `t-da.gmo'") and it seems
that he might not have gettext installed correctly... he should try to
reinstall the gettext package and see if that solves his problem. If
that's it, I guess we should see if configure can test for this.

If that's no the case, it would be good, if he could supply some more
output... e.g. the commands he used to build, etc.

Thank you good sir, that did it.

By chance how do you start a FRC game with xboard?

Select FRC from the File->New Variant menu, and then start the game like you always do. From the command line use the extra option -variant fischerandom.
