Hi Jose. I had a crashing problem with the 32 bit version, even with the DLLs. When I launched the MS debugger, it told me illegal instruction, pointing to a POPCNT instruction, which is not supported by my CPU. The 64 bit version correctly detected that I had a non-POPCNT CPU, and ran fine. I am not sure why the 32 bit version didn't detect this.

Same here. Bouquet 1.4 32-bit is fine though.

The only change has been in the compiler, the Version 12.1 a Version 13.
I will check immediately.
I have no 32-bit machine, so I try it on a Windows XP Virtual_Box 32bit.
Sorry for inconvenience.

Here's a partial result from another run ......

i7-940 @ 2.93 , 2 threads ea , klo_openings , no egtb , ponder off
Time Control : 1 min + 1 sec

I bet it ends up approx Rybka strength , or slightly better , but maybe a little less than SF , Critter , Komodo...... amazing !!

< And post results in tourn and matches so I can see when I awake. >

That may be problematic , depending on where/what time you get up ??

I live in Wichita , Kansas / USA = ( GMT - 5 hrs )

Test started at 1525 , my time

Running @ 4 mins + 2 secs , 100 games will take about 20 hrs

Maybe I'll throw in an update before crashing tonite , and I usually get up early in the AM..........

Tom

Thanks, Tom. I am in North Louisiana- but problem is I have screwed around and got my days and nights mixed up. Pretty much sleeping from 11:00 AM to 6 or 7PM. But it varies. Thanks again. I am extremely, extremely interested in these results.

Already replaced, now compiled with Microsoft Visual C + +, this gives even more speed on this platform.

It works for me perfectly, I hope no problems.

Still no luck on a Q6600 under WinXP.

Hi Chema:

I have Windows XP (Service Pack 2) and my OS is of 32-bit. MSVCR100.dll is required as in 1.4 version, but there is an important difference now: once this DLL was in the same folder of the engine, 1.4 version worked (double click on the executable for console mode) but 1.5 does not work (your first version and also this new one, with different compilers)! Once I double click on the executable, the command prompt is opened:

Code: Select all

Bouquet _1.5 x32
Jose M Velasco https://sites.google.com/site/chessbouquet/
Freeware Engine
And an error window appears:
Bouquet_1.5x32.exe - Error de aplicación |x|

I hope that this report will help you in identifying the error.

Regards from Spain.

This dll you mention- for me it is a problem creator- not a problem solver. Of course no issue on this intel i5 with newest technology. But on my intel XP 64-bit quad, a couple engines, one being Sjakk- won't play because it says it cannot find this dll. It is in 3 different places on the stupid computer. I said hell with it, copied it to the engine folder and stuck it right under his damn nose. Same thing- says he can't find it. So there is more going on here than just locating the dll.
