The on-line engine blitz tourney for February will take place
Saturday February 12, 3pm EST (21:00 CET)
You are all invited to be there with WinBoard /XBoard 4.5.0. As always:
winboard -zp -ics -icshost 80.100.28.169 -icshelper timeseal -fcp ENGINE.exe -fd ENGINEFOLDER -autoKibitz
and for UCI engines add -fUCI . Note that in WinBoard 4.5.0 you can switch on and off the autoKibitz interactively, in the ICS Options dialog, in case you forgot the command-line option.
Note that people who just want to watch or chat do not need a registered account. They can just log on under a name of their own choosing. Preferably their ownname!)

Re: On-line blitz tourney February
Sadly I think I will miss this months event. Taking the girl out for an early Valentines day since we both work Monday.
Good luck to everyone though

Re: On-line blitz tourney February
A very troublesome tournament, were I had to forfeit Visage because it had not moved for two games, and its operator was AFK. Spartacus was forfeited by the ICS on time despite the fact it never received the opponent's move. Either timeseal was not working, or I forgot to use it... Thinker's connection was still very unreliable, but at least it managed to last through the tourney this time. I really must urge to do something about this, because it is at the brink of being unbearable, and other participants start to complain. (It is very annoying if a strong engine beats you in the first two rounds, and then disconnects for the rest of the tourney. In Swiss it is not really possible to expunge the past...)
But at least micro-Max managed to steal a quick draw from a 638 Elo stronger opponent that had not set high-enough contempt!

Re: On-line blitz tourney February
As you say, no contempt at all - I would never be so arrogant ;-)
Came out of the book thinking it was almost a pawn down, so happy to take the draw. I was hoping micromax would play Kd1 instead of Bf8 to repeat.
Thanks for organising the event HG.
