Hi Matthias,

sorry, my first message to your great GUI.

After all my work over years in Arena development I say to myself:

Frank, look never in a GUI in detail, because I look with other eyes. But in the latest days I give your GUI my first look ... really a great work you do here.

I will give you my compliment for this strong development.

I know that was many work over a long time. I am sure more as 3.000 hours work or more you do here.

From my point of view I have enough from GUIs and I am happy that one GUI works fine for my SWCR tournament. Today I have more interest on engines and lost my interest for GUI ideas or things I do for Arena.

Your GUI is installad on my notebook. On weekends I play vs. different engines on my notebook and will used your GUI for the next games vs. amateurs.

Time to say:
THANKS !!

Best
Frank

Beware ! The scanty documention does not always match the implemented features. :D
Intuition and courage to explore the unknown are a necessity.

Some people have not been able to even setup one tournament :( .
I hope you have already gone beyond that point.

My passion is "Infinite Swiss" tournaments with 1600 engines (sometimes with a TC gradient that goes from slow games at top to fast games at bottom of table).

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Wow, Frank ! Maybe it is not ChessGUI that you downloaded ? :D lol.

Frankly, I think the people to appreciate ChessGUI most are people who run Chess960 tournaments, or Swiss tournaments with over 1000 engines, or Gauntlets/RoundRobins with over 10000 cycles.

Nice to see you very active in this our hobby again  .
Remember that ChessGUI is recommended only for engine-engine games at this stage.

Matthias.

ChessGUI 0.193 dramatically speeds that up.

ChessGUI 0.192 was already bug-free, so ChessGUI 0.193 is just an optimization ;) .

I may yet try to optically scale ChessGUI differently before pausing the ChessGUI project.

Matthias.
Oops ! There goes the bug-free status established in ChessGUI 0.192  .
ChessGUI 0.193 will not initialize Swiss tournaments ! There shall be a ChessGUI 0.193a tomorrow.
