Five votes so far, all for d3.
As I was going to let Ray know our move within an hour, I doubt that it'll get outvoted, so I'll tell him that's our move.

What is the type of castle that while will potentially have in this position?

I was going to suggest a3-Ka2 but I remember this is some sort of FRC, correct?

As far as I'm aware, we castle in pretty much the same way as normal chess, so we could castle short right now with the king staying where it is and the rook coming to c1.
I'm sure that somebody else can confirm.
Not sure where the king and rook would go if we castled long though? Probably the king to g1 and the rook to f1 (or would it be f1 and e1)?

i dont think so
i think we need to move our d1 bishop away then we can castle 0-0-0 with the King And Rook resting on their normal squares on C1(k)-D1(r) after a long Castle
if anyone has an engine that plays 960 they can check if it will accept a white Castle now

Okay - I can tell you for sure! :D
The king and rook must end up on the same squares as they would in a normal game.
So we could castle with the king on c1 and rook on d1 (queenside) or the king on g1 and rook on f1 (kingside).
Well understood Sir Steve!
