Hello Martin,

In the Chessbase GUI you should be able to right-click on the analysis window and then choose 'Analysis lines to Clipboard'. But if that does not work, maybe there is some problem?

Thanks for the tip but there is no such option in my copy of ChessProgram9 (which came with Shredder10). The closest is "Copy All to Notation" which does what it says on the tin - nothing in the clipboard.

if this is true, its important to know the evalulation for both moves..if Nc5 is favored by .01 when it wins and Bxa2 draws, it doesnt say a huge amt necessarily about the engine.

I was hoping that a Chessbase expert would come by and read this post, but they maybe missed it. I am sure it is possible but I never use Chessbase for recording analysis so I dont know the short-cuts. I believe it is also possible to choose how the output will appear somewhere but again not exactly where to look.

I do remember a helpful post in German about how to format and post Chessbase analysis, in the old CSS forum, but the archives have not been converted yet. But the people in the know could be found there I'm sure.

With Chessbase there is always more ways than one to reach a certain function so if right-clicking does not bring it up, I'm guessing somewhere in the taskbar what you are looking for is hidden somewhere...

Taking a look at it with Shredder10 it seems that Rybka3 sees into some of the distant forced lines better. Shredder seems to miss something. In particular there are moves for Shredder10 where playing the top move in the PV almost immediately alters the scoring for the line. Notably at the sequence:

30. ... Qa8 (expected Bxe5 Rg8 Nc7 0.80
31. Bxe5 Bxe4
32. Bh5+ Kf8
33. Bd6+ Kg8
34. Nb4 etc.

Shredder doesn't notice how quite how nasty the position after Kg8 is until too late. It would be interesting to know what happens if the game were tweaked slightly with 27. ... Ra8 instead of Rbc8.

Incidentally whenever I swap between Shredder10 and Rybka 2.32 with multipv mode running my CB GUI hangs up. Is there a fix for this?

Trying to find where to move Ra8 instead of Rbc8 or where to move Queen to a8 but fail misearbly... Maybe a diagram would be in order? In the "Edit" menu in your copy of the ChessBase Gui is there not a "Copy position" function? Then you only have to paste the resulting string here and put [d] in front of it yourself.

Ooops! Sorry it is my fault. Wild goose chase. I posted this in the wrong thread. It was another Shredder Rybka game I was commenting on.

Thanks for explaining how to get diagrams to work. The position I had in mind when I wrote the post was:

But it clearly belongs in some other thread. I think 27. .. Rbc8 is where Shredder started to come unstuck in that other game.
