The book should work for black in the WB version I distributed for the tourney. Itdid work for black in the old version already, just not on the first move (where n ICS mode the 'go' command to start the engine was sent from a different place as for starting engines in other modes, (located in another source file), where I had not preceeded it with a book probe yet.)

About the -autoKibitz, basically you are saying that you want it off, because you want none of the things it does (opponent kibitz in engine output, and own kibitz suppressed). This is already provided in the current implementation, where the default is that it is off.

Perhaps I should provide separate options for switching on the active part (sending the kibitz of your own engine), and the passive part (handling the kibitzes received from the ICS). Altough in your case, it seems that you would prefer not to use the active part either (as it would not kibitz the ponder output), but rather rely on the kibitz output of the engine itself.

but this was a fun blitz tournament then i thank you for this , hope next week better blitz tournament.

it where good idea if we are have a own engine chessclub server who we playing every week tourneys.

Actually, Telepath scored 4.5 points. The table is missing the
last rounds for it. If you look at the other entries you can piece
together Telepath's results. Last round was against Wombat,
before that Tinker and before that Thinker.

Nice tournament and it was fun. But, it looks like the bot has bugs
in the pairngs algorithm.

Even ICC gets this wrong: No entry should get more than 2
consecutive blacks. This rule failed for Quadroxx (3 times),
Neurosis,Scorpio, and ZCT,

Can't really talk about any other mistakes until that is fixed.

Yes, indeed, this seems strange. And not because of any complex reason of having other (wrong) priorities: E.g. in the third round Quadroxx gets its third consecutive black against Scorpio, which in the first two rounds hat one white, one black. So it easily could ahev prevented this by swapping the colors, without any other change in the pairing.

So mamer is buggy. :(

Well, I have the source code, but somehow I don't feel like tackling that too (next to WinBoard and the ICS itself).

Regarding the winboard polyglot book support, yes it works when the engine is black, but not with white.

As to autokibitz, turning it off still filters the engine's own kibs I think, so I suppose my preference would be to just let the engine's kib on their own without winboard interference.

Thank you again for your work on Winboard.

Brian

No, that is wrong. When turned off (default) it does absolutely nothing.

When turned on it sends the last thnking-output line of the engine before its move to the ICS in a kibtiz command, and suppresses kibitz messages from both players in th ICS window, and, when appropriate, (i.e. if it is not from your own engine) prints them in the engine-output window.

So it seems you are perfectly happy with how it is implemented, not switching it on.
