I tried to use xyclOps 1.2 in Fritz 11, Shredder 11 and Chess Partner 5.4 GUIs (via Wb2Uci ). The engine loaded well but stops to the first move. Maybe they are some problems with my .eng file ? Maybe some conflicts with the Wb2Uci ( dynamic hash....).
Any idea ?
It doesn't work here either, not under win xp 32 bit and not under Vista X64
I think the engine is still somewhat buggy, let's wait for version 1.3.
Best wishes,
André
Hi !
For me -on Windows XP 32 bit OS and Arena 1.99 beta 5 -like GUI- the engine works well ! But I don't like either Arena & Winboard GUIs !
A true tragedy for me !
I tried now a new Wb2Uci.eng file and new settings in .ini file ! Hope it will work ! I don't want to leave this planet without making xyclOps 1.2 working on Fritz 11 GUI !

Hi Roxy and André
I tried here and XyclOps works fine under Fritz + wb2uci.
I suggest that you disable Fritz book and let XyclOps play with its own book.
(what follows is a copy and paste of my post in a different talkchess thread in case you haven't seen it)
thanks much for downloading xyclOps 1.2 eval, and giving it a try.
as you probably know, in an effort to thwart software piracy and the illegal copying and distribution of xyclOps 1.2, the evaluation version contains security code that prevents it from running on more than 1 system.
unfortunately, i have indeed had some reports of users getting the error 55 corrupted security message when in fact they didn't move or copy the software to a different computer, and i do apologize for the error. i haven't got an explanation for this behavior at this time, but i will offer this:
i'm working vigorously on version 1.3 (and have been for some time). due to many many requests, I am strongly considering adding UCI support so that users can easily run xyclOps with some of the fine UCI GUIs that are available today (i.e. chessbase, shredder, etc.).
when version 1.3 is well-tested and ready, as a thank-you to everyone who downloaded and evaluated the software, i am intending a free release of version 1.2, without copy protection. anyone who has registered xyclOps 1.2 by that time, will of course receive 1.3 for free.
