Computer Chess Team Match 19 Jan 2008

Post by diep »

Hi,

Sorry for posting this in the programmers forum, but there is a good reason, this posting is meant for programmers mainly. The Event is a team match between 2 teams of programs over 2 games for each program against one program that plays for the other team at a time control of 100 30. Idea is to invite as many programmers to get online at ICC (chessclub.com) and play there with their program against another program. We try to list all programs interested and i'm not sure, but if a there is a surplus of european programs, we probably move the American programs and Australian programs to one team and European, African and Asian programs to the other team.

The idea is to have a nice chat going and to allow some of the Australian programmers already to start sooner, depending upon their time zone; also in Europe this is less of a problem. So all days we might get games.

Programs may only play if their programmer is online during the event (not necessarily operating it themselves), as the main idea is to have a good discussion about computerchess going.

You can register with me or Charles Roberson.

Please don't ship it to my tomtom nor triple-p adress as i might not be able to read those email adresses. ship it please to diep@xs4all.nl

Thanks,
Vincent

Consistent with my previous offer,

If Romichess needs a host for this event, my 2.33 Ghz Core 2 Duo processor is available to host if desired.

Just to clarify,

I am not planing on registering Romi, or getting a temporary icc account, or anything like that. But if you do that kind of stuff and send me a version I will do a couple test runs the day before and host during the tournament.

I've created web pages for registering and tracking participant entries.

Be careful, sometimes firewalls don't allow the entry through. If
you don't receive confirmation from me within 24 hours of your
application, resend the entry manually via email.

The web pages are at

Hi Sam,

Things are a mess for me at the moment. On top of that I am very sick with a bad head and chest cold. I do not think that I will be ready in time.

I have a new version of RomiChess (P3k) ready to go, however, it is all just a bit too much for me right now.

No problem, I hope you feel better. My offer remains good for any future tournament.
