Somehow I dont think they can make it to top 40 even with luck. Then again I have been wrong before.Graham Banks wrote:There are other strong oldies you could test like Abrok, Pepito and Nejmet for example.Kirill Kryukov wrote:Yes, oldies are those I enjoy the most. I did lot of testing for Yace 0.99.87, Smarthink 0.17a, Ktulu 4.2, Anaconda 2.0.1, Fritz 5.32 and 6, SOS 5.1, Zappa 1.1, Ruffian 1.0.5, etc.. I think that the list already has the strongest 39 free single CPU engines.
Then I think Comet, King of Kings and Dragon, deserve to be suggested, since they are probably stronger than Abrok.Graham Banks wrote:There are other strong oldies you could test like Abrok, Pepito and Nejmet for example.

From the CEGT blitz list
http://www.husvankempen.de/nunn/40_4_Ra ... liste.html
298 Abrok 5.0 2490 25 25 523 51.3 % 2481 29.3 %
318 Dragon 4.6 2460 22 22 750 35.9 % 2560 24.4 %
331 King of Kings 2.56 2430 32 32 367 37.9 % 2516 22.3 %
338 Comet B68 2410 22 22 796 41.0 % 2473 19.5 %
You probably used the wbec rating list but you cannot use list of engines with book and ponder on to estimate rating without book and with ponder off.

I can add that abrok scored better than all of them in the last
WBEC tournament
http://wbec-ridderkerk.nl/html/2nddiv.htm
I think that it is possible that comet enjoyed from the fact that it was a long time in higher division and maybe that engine performs relatively better against engines at higher divisions of Leo so it scored enough not to go down.

I should have used the word "possibly". I stand corrected. Do you think that the engines I mentioned didn't deserve to be suggested?Uri Blass wrote:probably not

Those engines are already on the list, Green Light was the only one missing that doesnt have any problems.Ovyron wrote:I should have used the word "possibly". I stand corrected. Do you think that the engines I mentioned didn't deserve to be suggested?Uri Blass wrote:probably not

Thanks! The suggested list becomes:Ovyron wrote:I think that the list already has the strongest 39 free single CPU engines.
Then I think Comet, King of Kings and Dragon, deserve to be suggested, since they are probably stronger than Abrok.Graham Banks wrote:There are other strong oldies you could test like Abrok, Pepito and Nejmet for example.
- Green Light Chess
- Abrok
- Pepito
- Nejmet
- Spiderchess
- Arasan 64-bit
- Comet
- King of Kings
- Dragon

(Note: Some of these engines are already listed in CCRL 40/4 list, but that does not mean they can't be suggested here, because here we discuss a certain sub-list - only particularly well tested engines are listed. So a large testing effort is required usually before an engine is added into my selection.)
Thanks,
Kirill

Maybe you'd want to NOT test Comet until Dr.Wael Deeb tells us which one is the stronger version?
