I am afraid that you do not understand the reference. It is a defense of the Strelka author. I think it is probably cultural.Rolf wrote:For reasons I am forbidden to mention here in CCC (by moderation order that forbeid me to mention the topic of ethics, ethics is for CTF but NOT computerchess! sic!) I think that Bryan did a much more mature job than you. A judge should NEVER make jokes on the back of falsely accused collegues! Period.Dann Corbit wrote:In this case I have done the dissection (read: 'they sent me the source code'). It could also be a specially cultured Connemara Highland duck!

Re: Strelka will be open-source?
The real point that Christophe is making here is that every chess programmer of a strong engine will receive lots of criticism. That is true also of Christophe Theron and Ed Schroder and Robert Hyatt and every other one that you can think of.Sergei Markoff wrote:Good news! Then I'm not more worry about Cristophe's health ))Tony Thomas wrote:Laugh I am afraid isnt bad for the liver. May be if you laugh while you are eating, you might choke on food, but other than that laughing isnt bad at all.
Here is what I think about criticism:
Either it is true or it is partly true, or it is false.
If it is true, then I gain by improving where I have been criticized.
If it is partly true, then I gain by improving on the part that is accurate.
But what of false criticism? Why should I let it bother me -- after all, it's false. In the final tally, the truth will speak for itself. It certainly does not need me to help it.
Here is my bottom line analysis:
Юрий Осипов (Yuri Osipov) has done something to be proud of.

Working on this, but this time I fear the beloved backup will be crossed with a different seed.

Beautiful words. But don't forget that at practice we see that author must show sources for at least three persons to stop hunting. Why the dump comparison was not enought? Why a lot of positions with different Strelka and Rybka behavior was ignored? Looks like without some help to truth the community can thread down the truth...Dann Corbit wrote:In the final tally, the truth will speak for itself. It certainly does not need me to help it.

I think by now everyone believes Strelka is not a clone.Sergei Markoff wrote:Beautiful words. And for those who do not believe nothing is going to convince them anyway.
