Paris 2007 : perfect casting ?

Post by Alainza »

Hello,
after intense negociations  , the computer's list of Paris 2007 tournament is now complete.
There may be little changes (switch of the Kittinger's machine ?) but no major change. So we will have :
1) Richard Lang
2) Ed Schroeder
3) Johan de Koning
4) Frans Morsch
5) Kate and Dan Spracklen
6) David Kittinger

The details are here :http://www.zanchetta.net/echecs/default ... =Paris2007

Pairings to be published soon.

Best regards,
Alain

Steve,

yes I am also happy, but for me it is even more important to participate rather than winning. I guess the Risc will not have a chance for the 1st place, in Speed Chess I guess the RISC 2500 and the Magellan are favourites (they both played very very strong in our recent online tournament at schachcomputer.info).

I suggested to take Resurrection Deep Sjeng first but after heavy and hard negotiations with the committee during 3 nights and some bottles of Bordeaux I was convinced by Alain  (I am a rich man now, you know...)

long live democracy regards
Stefan

I can tell you that in recent 30s/move games I played, the Risc 1MB performed very well against my TM London, even better than the Montreux ! So don't underestimate your chances ! (I would not have choosen the Risc 1MB first otherwise  )

OK, I know now what I have to bring to Saints in addition to the computers...

Yes, the replacement of Deep Sjeng by another computer was asked by a majority of players, I was only the spokesman

No chance to win with the Sparc which almost lost to the Nigel Short a few days ago regards,

HI Alain

i of course appreciate your trying to arrange an Internet connection for me

i would have participated with any computer you needed to fill out the list of programmers .. but you have already done that excellently

so not having to worry about what program to choose i guess i would have played with the Fidelity EAG V9

Wiki shows it at 2121 Elo so i guess i would have been the Underdog

do not be so sure to give up on the Sparc Alain
i recently played two 30 minute games with the Sparc against the London 030-33 Mhz and it won as Black and i i think it would have at least drawn if not won as white(the game had to be aborted)

anyway in a tournament of not many games i think any of the computers competing can be a surprise winner

Hedging All Bests Regards
