Andscacs - New version 0.91

Post by cdani » Tue May 09, 2017 9:02 pm

Hello. I published a new version of Andscacs, 0.91.

Changes:

* Improved various evaluation parameters, pawn structure, knights, king safety.
* Reworked threats evaluation.
* Solved little bugs.
* Speed and move ordering improvements.
* Improved time management.
* Improvements in some endgames.
* Improvement of various imbalances.
* Solved bugs when playing at Infinitychess or Playchess.

http://andscacs.com/downloads/andscacs091.zip

The previous 0.90 showed bad results at 4 CPU CCRL list, but not on 1CPU lists or other 4CPU lists like CEGT. Maybe is just bad luck, who knows.

Probably related I have undone a change that was good at 1 CPU but apparently bad at 4 CPU (discovered few days ago), discussed a little here:
http://talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... t&start=10

I expect 15-20 elo improvement.

Given the frequency of your releases and the fact that you can still get 15-20 ELO from a single one, you'd have to be one of the hardest working programmers around. :wink:

Will download and test against the big guns soon.
Check my site for engine reviews and other chess stuff :)

:-) I try.

I have done more than 130 versions since 0.90, and more than 8GB of games (pgn). I can send them to anyone that wants them :-)

Development should be fast otherwise Skipper may pass your engine on the rating list.

Your next engine should be called "Gilligan"
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Congratulations for your new version Daniel !
15-20 elo is great because you must improve an engine only by 50 elo per year ( henk's sentence) :lol:
Very good thing is to call the version
Andscacs 0.91 "Seanhenk" :lol:
:wink:
