After the release of the previous version, I decided to make my engine stronger at
WACnew.epd. I had the naive idea that this would make my engine stronger overall.
When I finished this project in June, Galjoen had only 1700 elo anymore, though.
It took me more than 4 months to repair the damage.
Today, Galjoen is still strong at WAC and it's a bit stronger than v0.32.
The Linux version runs about 40% faster than the Windows version on my computer, and
should be stronger than 2000 elo.
This version supports the UCI_LimitStrength an UCI_Elo options.

Re: Galjoen v0.33 released
Unfortunately Galjoen is handicapped by not counting external book moves, thereby getting into time pressure after move 30, having to move instantly in order to avoid forfeits on time.
That is a well-known bug of many WB engines.

Galjoen v0.34
Ah! I read the posts about the setboard problem (= not taking the move number into account) and I thought that I had fixed this in my engine.
But there is another problem: http://talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 81&t=60990

Fixed in v0.34. I didn't call it v0.33.1 because the latest version is faster en has better EBF than v0.33.But there are many WB engines that also fail to count moves entered in force mode as belonging to a classical TC session. In fact that is a true epidemic. They show exactly the described behavior, expecting new time when they don't get it, leaving themselves without any significant time for most of the next session.

Very good. If you do not plan to release a new version any time soon I am going to test this one.Werner Taelemans wrote: Fixed in v0.34. I didn't call it v0.33.1 because the latest version is faster en has better EBF than v0.33.
