Phalanx XXIV

Post by dusando » Wed Dec 24, 2014 3:28 pm

This is a perfect date to release the XXIV version. Here it is, the Phalanx Christmas packages are available from https://sourceforge.net/projects/phalan ... on%20XXIV/

Changes are:
- added late move reductions and pruning
- static evaluation - better passed pawn and mobility bonuses
- hashtable size can now be set via the GUI
- xboard automatic engine load support
- other minor fixes

Merry Christmas!

Thanks!

Thanks for the christmas gift. This engine is one of my favourites.

Is there a way to disable the learning feature? If not then is it possible to add this option?

Here is my winboard entry.

Code: Select all

"phalanx.exe -l-" -fd "C:\MyFiles\Chess\engines\nobook\phalanx-XXIV-win32\Phalanx_XXIV_Win32"
To disable learning use -l-
To enable learning use -l+

Yes, you use the correct switch -l- disables the feature and -l+ enables it, but now in XXIV, the learning feature is off by default anyway.
