Firenzina 2.3.1 xTreme

Post by Gusev » Wed May 29, 2013 1:29 am

I have uploaded a couple of generic 32-bit Windows compiles of Firenzina 2.3.1 to http://firenzina.wikispaces.com/. Specialized and generic 64-bit Windows compiles are there as well. A 64-bit compile for Windows AMD machines and Linux compiles are yet to come. Sources of Firenzina 2.3.1 can be found at https://github.com/Censor/Firenzina. I have merged the 2.3.1 branch into the master. (Firenzina 2.3.1 xTreme is a clone of Fire 2.2 xTreme by Norman Schmidt. Matthew Brades and I have worked on this version.)

Thanks Dmitri,

Firenzina compiles for Linux very straightforwardly. Though surely you should change all the instances of fire in the Makefile to firenzina.

How much stronger is it? Any changes in parameters?

Internal tests indicated ~+20 Elo. Parameters were tuned to match those in the popular GH compile of Fire 2.2 xTreme. Most effort went into ensuring Linux compatibility.

Hey - on my box, this engine is pretty strong. :)
Not (m)any Linux engines match Critter 1.6 at short time controls.
I'm using the Git snapshot from today. Cheers.
