Re: SMIRF engine project terminated
One of the first initators to FRC (today more known under Chess960). Your own book about FRC is very interesting and a very strong work too. Without Reinhard Scharnagl I think Chess960 don't have success. You do so many things, most for the German community with very strong and all the time interesting messages.
Computer chess, Chess960 and the other topics you are working are very hard in times today. In my opinion we live in a bad time for developer.
THANKS for your time and for the work you do for all of us.
Best
Frank

_No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….
Re: SMIRF engine project terminated
Currently I am diseased having fever. Thus my web pages will be still there for some days until I will do a change of its topics. But there are no actual engine releases to be found and moreover an upgrade to the stronger bonus version will not be supported any longer. Thus it will not make much sense to investigate there for a current engine.
The SMIRF approach is old and not that effective as it could be. Maybe I will continue developing an approach completely new. As there is a reinterpreting and changing the traditional null move into something different and having only monochrome pieces to create an absolutely color symmetric engine, which may lead to doubly usable cache entries speeding up especially during the opening stage of games. But those new approaches very probably will be kept private avoiding silly postings and offendings.
