Don D: What About this name....?

Post by fern »

Occam....

as you know, Occan was a middle age philosopher, famous to date by the principle called the "Occam razor".
This principle is explained as "pluralitas non est ponenda sine necessitate".
It has to do with to make use of the simpler solution to any problem and your program do that. It is a razor cutting the foliage, including the head of the opponent.
So, Occam 1.0

_No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….

I have already used the name Occam for a much early chess program based on my admiration of the Occam razor principle. I still like that name it's the strongest possibility so far. I think my icc computer chess acount is under that name.

So we need to beat Occam.
