Nemeton 1.4

Post by Stan Arts »

Nemeton 1.4

2 and 4 core versions included in the separate SMP folder. (Nemeton2.exe and Nemeton4.exe)

Max hash increased from 512 to 1024MB.

King safety weights for attacking and defending pieces near the king are basically quadrupled.

Considerably faster, many simplifications and cleanups. Qsearch and pondering improved. Some small bugfixes though one bug could of had some influence on some systems depending on how things were getting timed.

Hi Stan,

A pity you don't have a website anymore.
The links to the older versions at onedrive are obsolete.

Hi Guenther, good to see the RWBC alive!

yeah I should upload these things to a different location. Onedrive removing the "shorten links" option is another good reason.

I have old versions of pretty much anything I ever wrote if anyone is interested..

Hi Graham,

It's a further update. I found some improvements. I'm sorry I didn't mean to.

1.41 Small fix

Post by Stan Arts »

In a quick post-Leiden fix for time handling in console mode I managed to break pondering time management. It would often not subtract pondertime. Didn't notice till H.G.'s tourney this saturday.

Another thing is I stopped doing hash cutoffs on ply 2 again. (Which doesn't save nodes anyway.) I noticed it could walk into a repetition draw in the rare case a hash entry from a previous search was deeper but at that time would not lead to an immediate draw where now it does.

Thanks to Antonio Arias for pointing out a few bogus variables that could be cleaned up. I'm still trying to figure out threading under Linux but did not have much time.

Yes send me all versions of it except 1.41 that's the only one that I could download w/o registration.

BTW I am sure Ron will create an entry for Nemeton at CCW and for its downloads, if you want.
They exist already for Neurosis and Stan's Chess anyway, but a bunch of older Neurosis version could be added as well :)
