Today exactly 15 years ago the greatest (free) mate-solver was born:
CHEST

Happy birthday to CHEST -
and once more a big "thank you" to its father Heiner Marxen!

So all the lots of huge improvements that have been implemented during the development of ChestUCI were 'no significant updates'?

I use ChestUCI often, and therefore its underlying brain - Chest. Great programs. But they do execute slowly so SMP would be appreciated.

This reminds me of my old thread from 2010 on the subject:

Heiner didn't update his homepage for a long time, so the links to my ChestUCI (and also to Dan Corbit's EXE package) don't work anymore.
You can get ChestUCI v5.2 from my website (click on the WWW button at the bottom), and this includes also the (modified) executable WinChest.exe.
