DiscoCheck 4.3 is out

I'm using Open Chess, because I cannot attach files in this forum.
Theory and practice sometimes clash. And when that happens, theory loses. Every single time.

Thanks for the release, my friend. I realize I am becoming a pest- but is there ANY WAY POSSIBLE you would consider going back to "DoubleCheck"??

Thanks Lucas. Any chance of a compile for no-SSE comps as well?

Graham.

There's no such thing as "no SSE comp":
* Intel: SSE2 arrived with the Pentium M, which came before the first 64-bit Intel CPUs.
* AMD: SSE2 arrived with k8, opteron, athlon64, athlon-fx. And athlon64 is the first AMD to support 64-bit.

So 64-bit implies at least SSE 2 compliant.

The only things that are really missing are: an Android (32-bit) compile and a MacOSX compile. While MacOSX users can compile it themselves, compiling for Android it not so trivial, and you typically don't compile on a cell phone (most people cross compile on Linux).
Theory and practice sometimes clash. And when that happens, theory loses. Every single time.

You never stop spamming, do you?

If you continue, I'll call the next version something REALLY stupid.

Okay. Thanks for explaining. 8-)
You can tell that I'm no expert when it comes to hardware.

Cheers,
Graham.

I vote for "DoubleDisco" For example,
[d]1B6/8/1pk5/1rq2K2/8/5N2/6B1/8 w - - 0 1
White defends the check with a double disco, and suddenly it's mate: Ne5#

(I think that's a Mustermatt?)

Shame that the engine does not ponder mode.

Nice mate!

But DoubleDisco is redundant: double check implies disco check (reverse is not true).

How about "DiscoMate" ?
