Redqueen v0.9.1 release

Post by bhlangonijr »

This is a bugfix release for RQ version 0.9:

- Found/fixed a potential memory leak at evaluator class (thanks to Valgrind );
- Fixed a bug at passed pawn evaluation;
- Used a smaller value for the pawn hash size;

This fixed version is ~6 Elo stronger mainly because of the bug at passed pawn evaluation.

Obs.: Sourceforge environment is stable now. Many people had problems to download RQ 0.9.

Source & linux64/win32 binaries: http://sourceforge.net/projects/redquee ... een-0.9.1/
svn tag: https://redqueenchess.svn.sourceforge.n ... ease-0.9.1

Thanks,

I can't get Redqueen to use more than 1 thread no matter what setting I put in the "Threads" option. This is with Arena 3.0 and Jim Ablett's 64-bit Windows compile.

Any tips?

edit: I've also tried the official 32-bit Windows build with the same result..

Best,
Martin

Hi Martin, sorry for that RQ still doesn't support multi cores. The option is there for the future.

The funny thing is that I am currently working in the SMP version of RedQueen using the YBW algorithm. You can count with that in version 1.0 I plan to release in a couple of months.

Thanks,

Aha, this makes sense. I couldn't really remember it supporting more
than 1 thread, but then I saw the Thread parameter in the config panel.

Looking forward to the SMP Redqueen!

But first it will play in TCEC E.

Martin
