Simplex 0.9.6 released

Post by Antonio Torrecillas »

Hello,

due to an unrecoverable hardware error I am forced to change my host Server.

Please update your links, the new web address is:
http://sites.google.com/site/barajandotrebejos/
(Barajando trebejos == chessmen shuffling)

You will find the past published versions of Simplex and Rocinante (JA package).
Jim, thank you very much for your nice package.

I am glad to announce the new Simplex 0.9.6

Change Log:
  • - Simplex now use performance counters if available. Shorter time control is possible.
    - Simplified quiesce function.
    - Nullmove R=3, not two in a row.
    - Evaluation only on the tips.
    - New evaluation from scratch. Dumb, strange, stronger?
    - removed the KpK endgame bitbase.
    - corrected some bugs, noticeably in the hash move validation.
    - added age in the trasposition table.
Some results from the last sparring session:
silver 50 position, time control TC 40/6 with cutechess-cli
Intel Core2 duo T8300 @ 2.40 Ghz.

against:
Simplex 0.9.3 +59-23=18
Sungorus 1.3 +34-44=23
Sungorus 1.4 +33-43=23
Alex 2.10 +75-98=27
Alichess 4.21 +67-26=7

I'm not a fair tester so...

have fun.

Regards, Antonio.
