Which match pair next? For the long TC matches. POLL!

Post by Martin Thoresen »

The 3rd match is currently at it's 17th of 32 games, with Houdini 1.03a leading 9.0 to 7.0 for Stockfish 1.8.

Which engines would you like to see next?

Please vote for 2 engines in the list!

The poll will run until the current match is finished (3-4 days I presume).

Matches already played:
Rybka 4 - Houdini 1.02
Rybka 4 - Stockfish 1.8
Stockfish 1.8 - Houdini 1.03a

Note: I am only including Houdini as the representative of the IPP family of engines (even though it might not be related much, but that's another debate). So please no suggestions of Fire/Ippolit/Ivanhoe/Robbolito/Igoritt/Yadayada/Bladablada.

I forgot to mention:

In case of a tie I will personally decide between the tied engines.

Hi Martin,

I have choosen for Ryba 4 - Houdini 1.03a

Because you read on different forums that Houdini has taken over place 1!
So,it would be interesting to see this with long time control.

Why the actual matchlength is now only 32 games?
Will the further match(es) also have a distance for 32 games?

It's 32 games because it allows more variation in a shorter timespan. All matches will be 32 games from this point on.

Apparently I'm not eligible to vote in the poll 8-) Otherwise there would be one extra vote for Critter and for Stockfish.

Hello Peter!

Who says you're not eligible to vote?

edit: Ah, there's a minimum post limit in order to be eligible to vote.

Critter 0.8 v Komodo 1.2 would be a nice match.

Critter 0.80 vs Naum 4.2 would be interesting.

Why is the new Crafty not in the poll?

I'd like to see Crafty v CSTal some time soon.

Should be fun.
