Muse 0.95

Post by fierz »

After 12 years of abstinence I caught the chess bug again, and over the past two months have been programming as much as I could - the result is Muse 0.95, a lot better than the "original" 0.899b.

A bit more info: http://www.fierz.ch/muse.htm

Based on too little testing at too short time controls, I estimate Muse 0.95 to be ~2600 on the CCRL 40/4 scale. In times where all programs seem to have 3000 elo, that's not such a big achievement - but at least it's an original program, with one small exception: Muse 0.95 now uses Pradu Kannan's magic bitboard generator (hat-tip to Pradu).

I hope Muse 0.95 can be included in CCRL to get an independent estimate of its strength.

cheers

How embarassing: Only just released and already in need of a bugfix - make that http://www.fierz.ch/muse0951.zip to avoid crashes when reaching maximal depth....

Hi AA,

yes, sorry about that - I didn't feel like supporting win32 any longer, that seems like an obsolete platform :-)
