Hi!
I put here the 32bit exe and the visual studio solution I created to be able to compile it. I have done some changes to be able to make it work.
If you use it in a command line, by hand, it works, but it seems not to be able to work with GUIS like Arena.

www.andscacs.com/madlenka/madlenka.rar

I did not do a 64 bit compile because seems unable to compete.

Hello supersharp77,

Dann Corbit´s answer is:

Galjoen ~ http://www.goudengaljoen.be/

Does not compile with gcc 5.0
Does not work on windows when compiled with gcc 4.9.3
Quote:

Madlenka ~ https://github.com/petergar/madlenka

There is a 64 bit binary for Windows in the source folder

Best wishes,

Madlenka {Czech variant of the name Madeleine} is made by Tom King of England, which is (I strongly suspect) the same Tom King who made Francesca and FranMad.

I am guessing that he did not intend for it to be released yet, since it does not operate smoothly from Arena.

Arena does not correctly diagnose that it is a UCI engine and tries to run it as a Winboard engine.

If you set it to UCI, it plays OK, though the output is rather barren.

That is also where I got the "Tom King" from. Arena misdiagnosed the engine as some variant of FranMad, I think.

I thought it was pulling the name from the UCI dialog.
The actual author name is Peter Garscha.

Time control is kind of weird. Starts off really slow and then plays like a madman towards the end of the game.

Scratch the Tom King bit, that was a misdiagnosis by Arena.
Correct author name is Peter Garscha.

*$*TC is OK !
*$*Correlate the TC and the hash writted by the engine, please !
*$*In the first part of the game the engine writes a big hash ( needs a long TC for calculations) then it plays very quickly the endgame from hash !

Practical example:

Madlenka is a very interesting new chess engine ! THANK YOU for the 32-bit Windows binary, Daniel !

Madlenka has around 1800 Elo CCRL (4/40) !

Hello Supersharp77,

I use with Windows 7-64 bit the reliable WinBoard 4.8.0- Interface http://www.open-aurec.com/wbforum/viewt ... 19&t=51528

ChessGUI http://www.chess.hylogic.de/ cannot be completely loaded and on Arena http://www.playwitharena.com/ no moves are executed by the program.

for the buggy Galjoen version of Windows cf. the thread
http://talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 57&t=55338

Best wishes,
Norbert
