Thanks for checking it out, I hope it will score some points even in this tough field. When I was developing it I haven't played such an opponent field, I don't even have most of the engines so it is interesting to see.
in my holiday I will work on the idea to create a second list of 21 engines. Different bigger updates on my webpage will be the result ... need a bit time. More engines, more fun in testing.
Your engine plays here very solid chess, very strong. Nice to have it for my tourney.
Thanks for your hard work!!
Perhaps you can find a bit in checking the database later.
For the moment all works fine, no technical problems, no bugs.
Your eval is interesting!
Often after the opening moves +1 more if I compare it with other engines. A bit tricky to find out ... bad opening line or not ... most interesting ist that your engine is clearly more right as not right. I am using FCT1 games for book optimations. Could be the reason that after 280 games 2 games lost up to move 50 only. I have to look and checked that in detail later. ICE can be very strong for book analyzes. For the moment Frank is happy with the new achievement.
After 120 iCE games, six games I replayed because I find out bad lines with your program.
I love such things!
Means if I can see completly new things.
And ... your engine have an own style.
iCEs eval is the result of an extensive automated tuning process using genetic algorithms. So its eval is somehow evolved and the absolute values it reports end up being higher than those of other engines, so it is a bit more optimistic or pessimistic than other engines.
So if iCE gives a score of +1 in a game its chance for actually winning the game is lower than those of other engines when they give a +1. I thought about scaling the display score down (just divide it by 2 or so) to be more comparable with other engines but this did not make it in this release. Maybe I do it in the next. But I don't do releases to often, so it will take a while for sure.
Hi, I don't have the Shredder GUI so I can't comment how iCE behaves in it. Under Arena I haven't seen any freezes but I admit I don't play to many games with ponder on.
Do you have a UCI log file where I can see what commands iCE got and what it responded. Then I can try to figure out what's going on.
