The larger board sizes is probably the most handy new feature. The Gamelist has matured a bit, and i found a small but important fix for the Computer Engine Tournament.
Maximum board size is now twice as big
Gamelist context menu (right-click). Less button crowding
Annotation improvements: Depth based annotation, and cut-off features
Dock a few extra windows (graphs, tablebase)
Computer tournament stability/speed fix
Locked Analysis Engines now show the locked position (not the working line) , and bug-fix the engine lock, which didnt work properly
Add a low CPU priority check box to Engine Configuration window (especially important for MS Windows - where engines can kill GUI)
Engine configuration window now repsonds to keystrokes to quickly find any engine
Display "(altered)" in statusbar is game has been changed
Fullscreen menu item (Options->Windows->Fullscreen)
FICS tweaks, including over-riding takeback/abort request dialogs when game ends
Remove some wasted space around FICS, main button bar, and other widgets
New Greek translation
Read custom chess pieces from /.scidvspc/pieces
Docked tabs/menu refinements
OS X - Clicking on URLs will open the link in a browser
Add a command console to the start-up window
Bug-fix: Fix main board rendering anomoly in docked mode with MS Windows
Bug-fix: When tree is open, gamelist filter operations didn't work properly
Bug-fix: Search in variations never matched positions at end-of-line
Bug-fix: Opening Table favourites werent working properly
In Export PGN dialog, add an option for "Space after Move Numbers"
Keyboard short-cuts changes. Control-L (etc) no longer open/close, but open/raise
Tweak Comment Editor and Player Info buttons
I was using from yesterday and I do love the board, now automatic resize.
I'm having some problems with the tablebase window, the only way to see the mini-board is to undock and make the tablebase window at max size. Its like the middle panel does not shrink, and keeps too big, not leaving enough space for the mini-board. This is on linux, compiled from sourcecode.
All looks working much better, as an example, to play against UCI engine now starts immediately, before I had to wait 5~10 seconds.
Thanks for the new Scid vs PC version Steven! Maybe you could update the Stockfish version to Stockfish DD!
No update yet for Scid Serpent That's not really an officicial engine of course. I would like to make some update one of these days, but I'm not sure yet if I should include the search changes from the latest TCEC Superfinal Stockfish DD, the search changes from Lucas, or keep the EvalMargins as they are in Scid Serpent... The Stockfish DD search should scale a bit better I think because it is a little less dependent on futility margins being increased by EvalMargin (which is King Safety, at least in Stockfish, but there are no EvalMargins anymore in the new Stockfish) King Safety is a bit less important on deep searches IMO.

Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

I didnt know about that one - I'll have to check it out. Maybe next version of ScidvsPC will ship with stockfish source, and an updated xboard engine instead of phalanx.
IGarcia wrote:When I try to copy one database to other, by drag and drop one database tab over other, its does not work if the game list window is undocked.
It works fine if the game list remain docked.
Yes - that's a known issue with Scid's docked mode that i can't fix without a big rewrite i think.
You'll have to start in Undocked mode to get a properly working (undocked) switcher . Go to Options->Windows->DockWindows
