vajolet 2.48 released

Post by elcabesa »

after a long absence today I release versione 2.48 of my engine Vajolet.

you can download it at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8vVDp ... sp=sharing
here a very short list of changes from the previous version.
-ponder support
-opening book support
-very poorly tested multi PV support
-lot's of evalutation modification
-some nasy bug added :(

in the end it should be stronger than vajolet 2.03

that said, I'm also here to announce my new blog about chess programming at http://vajoletchess.blogspot.it/ and vajolet rebuild from scratch, but you can read mor on the blog

Works fine under linux/scid-vs-pc/wine combo.
Still is not very strong, I was 2 pawns down and managed to recover and win...

Thanks for vajolet!

it should be stronger than 2600 on CCRL 40/40 list.
maybe it's the nasty bug that is working.

the code has a nasty bug that make it not find some good solution.. but I wasn't able to find it.

I dont saved the pgn, and scid does not save a history game log as other gui, so game its lost.

What I do remember is vajolet as black moved a rook forward (to capture and gain a pawn). Later that rook was subject of attack while develop I pieces and gain space. Vajolet never castled, not yet developed king side pieces.

I do think in the end, the hanging pawn blunder turned to be a "sacrifice" in exchange of development and later a nice attack.

OK, so now I know I beat a 2600 engine, and not saved the game, i'm going for a gun and kill myself
