Nirvanachess 1.1 Release

Post by cetormenter »

As I have made significant progress with my engine I have decided to release a new version. The increase in play strength should be somewhere around 200 elo. More details inside.

Thanks Thomas. Looks like you'll be playing in a higher division of my Amateur Series. :wink:

I think you should change your download site. I have a habit of skirting around crooks, most especially stupid ones. They are not storing one byte of their crap on my computer.

If someone wants me to do something, he at least has a chance if he gives me a choice. If he backs me into a corner- he is even a bigger fool than I thought.

I get this, among others: Firefox needs your consent to download large files.
Please click ALLOW to continue your transfer.
No problem,

you check "I agree to the terms of service"
clik to download
and already has 80 kbytes.
By the way, it works fine and stable.

Here it is, in mediafire, 32 and 64 bits.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/6jiwy ... m/nirv.zip

The images of climb on another forum, and copy the link here.

That leaves you another screen, it may be that I have something installed "mega", something previous.
And you take right.

huh... I am not sure why the site does not seem to work with firefox. The file sizes are 86kb and 89kb for both versions. I don't think these would be considered "large" by modern standards.

Thank you for reuploading. I suppose I will have to use mediafire from now.

Since the old link did not work on all browsers I have reuploaded it to mediafire.

Let us not get too hasty now. The last time I made a claim of elo it seemed to be 200 off so I maybe lucky if this version is actually ANY stronger than the previous one :P .

After thanking you for helping me in the email- I think I pointed out that actually it was not a FFox issue. As I said, I also have IE and Chrome, but did not realize that would have helped. But to be fair to FFox, they were not the one telling me that I could not get the 65kb download unless I gave them 50MB of my private hard drive space with no idea what they wanted it for. All FFox was doing was saying "whoa there- you must think george is an idiot."

Best always to you,

george

Hello !

A short match between Ant 2006-f (2098 ELO CEGT_4'/40 moves) and NirvanaChess 1.1 (the previous version -NirvanaChess 1.0 -has 2102 ELO CEGT_4'/40 moves, near equal with Ant 2006-f). Ant access Nalimov TBs.

90% after the first 10 games (+8=2-0) ! And an absolutely impressive play. Nothing to do with the first release ! A very good engine in endgames.

My estimation: around 2350-2400 ELO CEGT (4'/40 moves) !
Conditions:

TC=4'+2"
Hash=64 MB
Book=Perfect_2010.abk
CPU=Athlon 64 3800+

Ant 2006-f access 5 men Nalimov TBs.

Regards,
SilvianR :wink:

That's a fair estimate of its strength, but I suggest matching it up against Zchess 2.0. Very interesting games and a close match overall. :-)
