Hi Everyone,
EXchess v6.70 is now released at
http://personal.denison.edu/~homand/EXchess.htm
I've had very little time to work on it over the last months, but there is some improvements over the previous version in king safety and a bit on the search. Also some bug fixes, most significantly on time control management for games with increment (thanks to Jon Dart for pointing that out!).

Thanks Daniel,
had first some Troubles with Arena 3.0 to configure for 256 MB hash.
After changing wb Parameters in Arena it worked.

Re: EXchess v6.70 released
Under Arena 3.0 in Windows 7, I have to go into the engine configuration under the menus. Then I select EXchess, and I edit the command line to read "xb hash 256". This works fine for me with my copy of Arena 3.0. It usually takes a few moves out of book before the program shows 256 mb of memory used during play, not sure why.Werner wrote:Thanks Daniel,
can you please help me to configure you engine
EXchess_v6.70b_win64.exe 1.919.408 19.12.2012 21:25 -a--
inside Arena 3.0 for 256 MB hash. I always get only 35 MB.
My changes:
# Hash Tables - larger is generally better,
# but don't exceed your available RAM, if you
# do - the search will slow down to a crawl.
HASH 256 # in megabytes (minimum is 16)
# For some programs using the xboard protocol, set XBOARD to 1
# This will make EXchess start in xboard mode, rather than waiting
# for the "xboard" command from the host program. Only use this
# if necessary
If I start in console mode this works but not inside Arena3.0
Here I get automatically this commandline
xb hash 32
changing this does not work here.
just tested in Arena 2.01 - and here it works

Re: EXchess v6.70 released
Thanks for the answer,
I changed in Arena 3.0:
Engine Management
Common Parameter Settings
Maximum 256 MB
Now it works fine here
