TCEC - general interest?

Post by Martin Thoresen »

Hello,

Just a quick poll to see what the current interest is for a resurrection of TCEC.

There is much interest for a resurrection. I guess the only problem would be if the resurrection was contingent upon an upgrade in hardware. Even so, I would donate some money to you, even though my own equipment is becoming ancient. The TCEC was one of the more recent highlights of CC.

The hardware was already quite beefy so it should do just fine.

Vote for the latter,

Encouragement and as below.

It would be a significant improvement if the matches were done in two separate computers, so each of them can use all the cores for pondering and possible interactions between them are completely discarded. This will actually push the software to the limit, and examine time management in real competition environment.

PS: If that is worthy of donations is a complete different story.

The comeback of the year!

My money is low but my enthusiasm for TCEC is big, even if you'd play with Pentium III only. I don't recall all the exact conditions, but anyway I suggest to play with ponder = on even if that means half of the cores per engine. Ponder on is the new fashion!
