This may be true for the PC version. But as for the Amiga I had CM2000 and CM2100 for, 2100 had definately the same engine as in 2000 - just at half of the speed, obviously due to chess board animations they had added. I was very disappointed at that time. Nevertheless, I bought another four Chessmasters later, for PC.

Hi GENERALISSIMO !

See , please , the chapter "So who’s chess engine runs inside Commodore 64 Chessmaster 2100?" at this address:

http://www.spacious-mind.com/html/commo ... essma.html

From this web page comes the ambiguities.

From all information I have (and STASI has a lot of) , in both CM 2100 & 3000 , run Kittinger chess engines .

Here is an extremely serious German site (contemporary with these DOS chess programs) with all important DOS and the authors in epoch:

http://www.septober.de/chess/index.htm

No ambiguity please !

Regards,
SilvianR

Hi Ruxy
this has already been debated on the Hiarcs Forum:

http://hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=53935#53935
i think the core engine for CM3K is Kittinger's with some minor tweaks by an engineer of the company

That is Tweak ..not Tweet Regards
