Deep Saros
Free U.C.I. chess engine
DeepSaros is a free UCI chess engine derived from Ippolit series (Ippolit/Robbolito/Igorrit/IvanHoe).
(...)
Deep Saros is renewed with the version "Vitruvius"!
(...) To these reasons I decided writing a special version of DeepSaros (Saros Vitruvius)...

At least they are honest about the origin:mclane wrote:will there be an english translation of the website ? i don't understand that language...
Vitruvius derives from the programs free software series Ippolit (RobboLito, Igorrit, Ivanhoe) from whom he inherited various features and peculiarities, but is designed to play with a speculative and very original style.

I really enjoyed beta testing Vitruvius. I think that this engine plays a different type of chess and the games are always exciting. I believe Roberto has accomplished what he set out to do, as Vitruvius provides a human like attacking style. Good luck Roberto!

I did tactical testing on this engine and its results were so-so. But that was quite a few months ago now.

Best to pass on this one. Not even in the ball park in strength with Deep Saros.
