This one is piece of cake for strong engines, but is a nice one for average engines. I took this position from the game Redqueen vs Fridolin in the 30th ODCCC.
[D] 5rk1/4bp1p/6pP/p2pP1P1/2qP1QB1/8/1P3R2/7K w - - 23 68
Redqueen played e6! and won the game.

Re: Test position for average engines
Ok, I looked for a while, but I cannot find the ODCCC time controls.
FWIW, Tinker takes about 47 sec on a 4.2GHz i920 (one core, 64 bit) at ply 17
Redqueen 0.7.5-ACCA2010 (32bit?) on my system takes about 7 seconds at ply 14 to stick with e6 and a few ply more for the score to jump to more than +3

TC is 90 minutes per player for the whole game.brianr wrote:Ok, I looked for a while, but I cannot find the ODCCC time controls.
