Naum 4.2 FRC

Post by Graham Banks »

From Ray:

Naum 4.2 64-bit has been added to the ratings list. The pure list is the one I prefer:

http://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/404FRC/index.html

It is showing as approx +44 ELO stronger than Naum 4, so the author's estimate of +50 ELO is sound. The statistical error margins with just 700 games here are still quite big.

I saw bigger estimate than 50 elo

"Considering the estimated improvement of more then 50 ELO compared to Naum 4.0" are the words in the following link.

http://naumchess.brinkster.net/

I also do not see more than 50 elo rating improvement in another list.

see http://www.inwoba.de/

4 Naum 4.2 : 2818 13 13 1900 68.2 % 2686 37.7 %
12 Naum 4 : 2772 9 9 3200 57.0 % 2723 40.6 %

Note that I bought Naum4.2 inspite of the fact that my best estimate is slightly less than 50 elo improvement relative to Naum4.

It seems that his estimate of more than 50 Elo was pretty good.
