The global launch of Pocket Fritz 4, based on the Hiarcs 13.0 chess engine, could not have been more auspicious. In this category seven tournament the program, running on a handheld Pocket PC, scored a stunning 9.5/10 points, with an Elo performance of 2938. The program is scheduled to be released in October 2009.

I wonder what the ELO of Hiarcs would have been if it was running on a Quad CPU with 16 cores? Maybe ELO 3300 ?

Pablo can crush this program with ease....Because 99,9% of the chess engines are afraid to play him....

Is it possible to play versus Fritz Pocket 4 yet ? I really would like to do that now ...
I am thinking chess is in a coin.Human beings for ever playing in one face. Now I am playing in the other face:"Antichess". Computers are as a fortres where owner forgot to close a little door behind. You must enter across this door.Forget the front.

I notice that Hiarc13 on PF is always ahead by at least one pawn going in the end game or more!

Against computers, being down one pawn in the endgame is very difficult to overcome. I wonder if the PDA had endgame tablebases with the program?

Iv'e noticed that Hiarcs 12.1 in PF3 has always being very good at endgames compared to the others like Naum, Shredder, Toga, Crafty. In many hard studies it will quickly identify the winning plan.
After I purchased Pocket Shredder I was dismayed to find that just because it has the 4 piece Shredderbases does not mean that it will play these endgames perfectly. All that it knows is if a position is won ,draw or lost but not how to win in the quickest way such as the Nalimov tablebases do.But once there it has to calculate. The 4 piece endgame tablebases are a joke any way, and any half decent program should play these endgames to the rightful conclusion without them.
